How to turn off Bixby on Galaxy Note 10

The Galaxy Note 10  and  10 Plus  lack the dedicated Bixby common button on previous Samsung phones. Instead, the power button on the new phone is designed to activate Bixby by default when pressed for a long time.

Luckily, Samsung gives you the ability to disable this Bixby shortcut in your phone settings and remapping double-touch actions. And if you’re not a fan of the company’s digital assistant and you prefer to use Google instead, you can turn off almost all of Bixby’s features. This is how it is done.

How to turn off the Bixby Side shortcut

Your first business order is to make sure that the annoying side key (Samsung’s new name for the power button / sleep / wake button) doesn’t activate Bixby when pressed for a long time. This is easy to do.

1.  Open Settings.

2.  Touch the advanced features.

3.  Touch the Side key.

4. The default behavior is to press and press will wake Bixby. Touch the Stop menu setting  to change this.

How to hide Bixby Home

Bixby also lives by default on your receiver’s home screen, on the left side of the home page. Removing it is even easier than changing the behavior of the side wrench.

1. Press and hold any empty space on the home screen to display the home screen options. Once inside,  swipe left on the home screen

2.  Disable Bixby Home.

How to turn off the Bixby route

At this point, you have deleted Bixby from note 10. However, there is one more step. Samsung has implemented a prediction service called Bixby Routines in its latest phones, tracking how you use your device and act in certain situations.

For example, your note 10 might automatically stop battery drain processes if it says you’re not connected to charging as you usually do every night. Or, if you enjoy listening to music and using navigation for morning commutes, your device can open those apps after you connect to the car via Bluetooth. You can also set custom Bixby routines, according to trigger lists and similar actions.

You may find that Bixby routes are the only aspect of Bixby that you want to use on your phone. In this case, just leave it alone and see how it affects your daily life. However, if you want to turn it off, you will need to return to device settings.

1.  Open Settings.

2.  Touch the advanced features.

3.  Disable the Bixby routine.
